# Nerve OS

## Rook's capabilities

- **Inbox intelligence**: Forward any mailbox (Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail, custom domains) to a private Nerve OS address. Rook summarises every incoming email in plain English, groups threads, and marks what matters.
- **Automatic task creation**: Emails containing work become proposed tasks with deadline and context filled in, each permanently linked back to the source email.
- **Self-updating calendar**: When an email says a meeting has moved, changed venue, or been cancelled, Rook updates or removes the matching calendar entry and notifies you with a link to the email that caused it.
- **Ticket & document reading**: Attach a train ticket, flight confirmation, or invite and Rook extracts dates, times, route, seat, and booking reference, proposes calendar entries (one per leg), and keeps the file attached to the event.
- **Morning briefing**: One daily summary of meetings, priorities, overdue work, and goal movement. Skipped when there is nothing worth saying, and paused for inactive accounts.
- **Workload radar**: A rolling seven-day scan for deadlines on unstarted work, collision days, overdue pile-ups, and stalled goals.
- **Watchers**: Scheduled automated checks that monitor a page or topic and report back, with approval gating on any action taken.
- **Marketing operator**: Strategy, post drafts, images, and scheduling across channels, always approved before publishing.
- **Goals & momentum**: Goals linked to tasks and projects with weighted progress, plus coaching on the next step rather than points, streaks, or badges.
- **Approval-first action**: Rook proposes; you approve. Nothing is created, changed, sent, or deleted behind your back.

## How data flows

- **Email**: Forwarding-only. Nerve OS never signs into your mailbox — you forward messages to a private handle you control.
- **Calendars**: OAuth read/write for Google and Microsoft. Disconnect at any time.
- **PII redaction**: Personal data is redacted before content is sent to third-party AI models.
- **Encryption**: TLS 1.2+ in transit; application-layer AES-256-GCM at rest for OAuth tokens, chat messages, email bodies/subjects/summaries, and push subscription keys. Postgres storage is also disk-encrypted.
- **Rate limiting**: Layered per-user and per-sender limits protect the email surface from floods; excess mail is stored without AI processing.
- **GDPR**: EU-hosted infrastructure, full data export and deletion on request, DPA available.
